本研究は、人工知能（以下AI）が引き起こした被害に対する人々の責任判断について、①AIのとらえ方、②非難の判断、③人々が望む対処、という３つの観点から日米比較web調査を行い、文化差と文化共通性を明らかにする計画である。【学会発表】2022年度は、国際比較文化心理学会で1件、日本社会心理学会で1件、それぞれウェブ調査の結果を発表した。国際比較文化心理学会の発表は、2021年に国内学会（グループダイナミクス学会）で発表した日米比較データを用いた発表で、主な知見は2021年度実施状況報告書に記したので、ここでは省略する。日本社会心理学会の発表は、2022年2月に実施したweb実験調査（国内調査）の発表で、AIが「感情経験能力」や「感情読取能力」を備えると、AIに道徳性や責任が知覚されやすくなる、という因果関係があるかどうかを検討したものである。報告した主な知見は以下である。＜知見＞AIが感情読取能力や感情経験能力を備えているように見えるほど（＝シナリオ内で、それらの能力があった、という情報が提示されるほど）、人々はAIに道徳的な能力を知覚しやすくなる。また、AIが感情経験能力を備えているように見えるほど、人々はAIに自由意志や責任を知覚しやすくなる。AIがもたらす被害に備える制度として、人々は、保険でまかなう制度を最も支持しており、次いで、(AIの)持ち主に賠償義務を負わす、開発・製造販売業者に負わす、AIに法的人格と所有権を与えてAI自身に賠償義務を負わす、といった制度を支持している。【米国でのweb調査実験】上記の日本社会心理学会で発表した国内調査（AIの感情能力と責任の関係の調査）を、2022年度は米国でも追試した。現在、発表に向けて分析している。
