高齢者の割合が増加し続ける今日、要介護状態の前段階ともいえる虚弱状態の「フレイル」が注目されている。本申請の前身である「大腿部CTによる筋肉内異所性脂肪および筋肉量、運動機能と潜在動脈硬化との関連」（基盤（C）：2016-2018年度）は、本研究の基となる研究のSESSA-Women研究（基盤（A））の付随課題であり、本申請はこのSESSA-Women研究の第2期調査に対応して、引き続きフレイルの調査および大腿部CT検査・画像解析を完遂しようとするものである。本申請の目的は、一般女性集団を対象とし、(a)大腿部CTによる筋肉内異所性脂肪および筋肉量、運動機能と潜在性動脈硬化との関連を明らかにする、という第1期の調査を完遂すること、(b)第1期の中間解析の結果に基づき、①精密な活動量計による生活活動のデータと②フレイル・③大腿筋の面積および異所性脂肪の割合・④潜在性動脈硬化の3項目との関連を明らかにすること、である。コロナ禍のため、2021年度に終了予定であったSESSA-Women研究のための調査は一時休止を経て2022年度に終了した。そのため2022年度は、2021年度に引き続き、SESSA-Women研究参加者について以下のデータの収集・蓄積・CT画像の計測作業を行った。(A)大腿中央部のCT撮影及び大腿筋群の横断面積・筋肉内や筋肉間の脂肪面積(異所性脂肪)の計測・筋肉面積の計測(B)フレイルに関する問診・運動機能検査の実施：握力・5m歩行テスト・片脚立位保持最大時間・Functional reach test(動的バランス能力の評価)・Timed up and go test(歩行能力や動的バランス、敏捷性等の評価)(C) 生活活動の程度の計測：研究参加者に活動量計（オムロンActive style Pro HJA-750C）の1週間装着を依頼し、データを収集した。
