本研究の目的は、がん化学療法患者のコントロール感覚を測定する尺度を作成し、それを用い、がん化学療法患者が主体的に社会生活を送ることを支えるコントロール感覚獲得支援モデルを開発することである。そして、その支援の有効性を検証することである。この研究目的を達成するため、2019年から研究計画の第1段階である、がん化学療法を受ける患者のコントロール感覚尺度（案）の作成に向けて、尺度の構成概念、類似概念、類似尺度に関する文献検討及び尺度の信頼性・妥当性を得るための方法について、国内外の文献を用いて検討し、研究計画書の充実を図ってきた。2021年度に、研究機関の研究計画書審査、2022年度に研究機関及び調査機関の倫理審査を受け、研究実施の承認を受けた。そのため、尺度原案作成の第1段階にあたる、がん化学療法を受ける患者へのインタビューを対象者20名に実施し、がん化学療法患者がコントロールを必要とする事象や要因とそれに対して抱く認知に関する質的データの収集を行った。現在、収集した質的データの逐語録の作成と分析を行い、尺度の質問項目を完成させるべく、取り組んでいる。尺度の質問項目の作成にあたっては、今後、専門家会議等を取り入れ、高い現実適合性を備えた尺度の開発を目指す。さらに、尺度が完成したのち、開発した尺度を用いて、がん化学療法を受ける患者のコントロール感覚の質を評価し、患者が獲得できていないコントロール感覚の特定や獲得の程度を把握し、がん化学療法患者が主体的に社会生活を送ることを支えるコントロール感覚獲得支援モデルの作成を検討する。
