本研究は、認知症高齢者の介護家族の介護負担軽減にむけて、タクティールケアを介護技術として導入した「認知症高齢者の介護家族支援プログラム」の評価を目的としている。タクティールケアは解剖生理学的な知識や特別な道具がなくても実施でき、認知症の緩和ケアとしての有効性が報告されている。申請者らは、タクティールケアを受ける側およびケアを提供する側の双方にリラクセーション効果が期待できることを検証し、タクティールケアを介護技術として導入した介護家族支援プログラムを開発することとした。まず、認知症高齢者および家族介護者を対象にタクティールケアの在宅における実施の可能性、継続にむけての手法や指導方法等を検討するために介入研究を行った。その結果、家族介護者の意見および要望をもとにタクティールケアの手技を簡便化した介護家族むけの「なでるケア」を考案した。さらに、家族介護者が「なでるケア」を習得し、在宅において実施および継続できるように、家族介護者の現状に沿った方法にカスタマイズした「認知症高齢者の介護家族支援プログラム」を作成した。2019年度はタクティールケアを基盤に介護家族むけに考案した「なでるケア」の有効性を検証する準実験研究を行い、研究成果を報告した。また、「認知症高齢者の介護家族支援プログラム」の実行可能性の検証研究にむけて、研究フィールドとしているK市の認知症対策検討部会の担当者、小規模多機能型居宅介護事業所およびデイサービスセンターの管理者等に研究の趣旨を説明し研究協力の依頼を行った。2020～2022年度は、COVID-19の収束を待って実行可能性の検証および有効性の検証を行うために研究対象者の選定や研究開始日程の調整を試みたがCOVID-19の蔓延によって認知症高齢者と介護家族を対象とした「認知症高齢者の介護家族支援プログラム」による介入には至っていない。
