项目摘要

本研究の目的は、絵草紙屋小泉の絵本・絵巻についての基礎的な研究を行った上で、近世前期の絵草紙屋における絵物語制作の方法について考察し、その活動を文学史の中に位置付けることにある。そのために、①「小泉作品の基礎的研究・資料集の作成」、②「江戸時代前期の絵草紙屋における絵物語制作の方法の究明・文学史への位置付け」という２点を軸に研究を行っている。①「小泉作品の基礎的研究・資料集の作成」については、これまで調査を行ってきた作品の翻刻および注釈作業を順次行っているところである。調査の結果、先行研究で知られていた「小泉」印を持つ作品のほか、「小泉」の印記が削り取られたと思われる作品も確認され、小泉作品として位置づけられるものは当初の予定よりも多くなる見込みである。また、②「江戸時代前期の絵草紙屋における絵物語制作の方法の究明・文学史への位置付け」として、江戸時代前期における奈良絵本制作についての研究を進めた。まず、これまでにも中心的に取り上げてきた『硯わり』について、「小泉」の奈良絵本とは別系統の伝本である広島大学図書館蔵本の調査を行った。この伝本がフランス国立図書館に所蔵される豪華本と同系統であることは指摘されていたが、熟覧調査の結果、この二本の挿絵の関係性がより具体的に窺えることとなった。このほか、広島大学図書館では、『硯わり』と同じ横型奈良絵本である『中将姫』、『ふんせう』、『よしのふ』、『たはら藤太』についても熟覧した。『中将姫』の下冊に絵草紙屋の印記が認められるように、これらは江戸時代前期の絵草子屋で制作された奈良絵本と考えられる。さらに、多くの奈良絵本が制作された『しぐれ』物語について、2019年にシンポジウムで報告した内容を発展させ、江戸時代における『しぐれ』の奈良絵本および版本の展開についての考察を進めた。この成果は次年度に論文として発表する予定である。

In 2019, the content of the report was developed. In the Edo period, the version of Nara moto was developed. The results of this annual paper are scheduled for publication.
