项目摘要

本研究計画では、紀元前7世紀後半から紀元前5世紀初めのバビロニアの女性の経済的立場・活動の体系的研究を目的としている。前年に引き続き、海外での資料収集や研究打ち合わせが難しい状況にあり、本研究の基幹であるデータベース入力をあまり進めることができず、2022年度はこれまで集めた資料の分析に基づく研究を行った。6月にヘルシンキで行われた古代西アジア世界のジェンダー研究に関する国際ワークショップThe 5th Workshop of Gender, Methodology, and the Ancient Near East（GeMANE5）で、オンライン参加により研究発表を行った。この発表では、バビロニアの都市住民の一族の女性の嫁資、財産の運用および経済活動が、婚家の経済活動に及ぼす影響をテーマとし、当時最大の財閥ともいえるエギビ家の歴代家長たちの妻、およびエギビ家より規模は小さいがビジネスを行う家の妻たちの状況を比較し、論じた。本研究は2021年度、論文集『歴史の中の個と共同体』において日本語で出版したものを基盤として再検討し、さらに議論を深めたものである。本発表の内容をまとめた英語論文を、本研究会の論文集に掲載されることが決定しており、執筆中である。また主婦の活動や立場について論じた論文1本が出版された。この論文では、アケメネス朝時代バビロニアのボルシッパ市で作成された、家計の出納記録（メモ）とみられる文書や手紙を分析し、ある女性（主婦）が家計から食費などの支出のために金銭を受け取っていること、また別の女性は、夫の携わっているビジネスにおいて、部下に指示を出すなど積極的に関与していたこと等を明らかにした。さらに、前年に引き続き、紀元前1千年紀バビロニアの文書をオンライン公開するAchemenet.comにおいて、文書の解読および参考文献調査等を分担した。
