本来の研究期間最終年度に当たる2022年度も、引き続きコロナ禍に伴って研究計画の調整を余儀なくされた1年となった。所属先の海外渡航自粛は年度途中で緩和されたものの、海外の史料館の利用制限は続いていた他、急激な円安やコロナ禍に付随する航空運賃の上昇等もあって、当初の計画通りに海外史料収集を行う目途を立てることは出来なかった。また、国内では外交史料館の利用制限が継続しており、集中的な調査も叶わなかった。以上を前提とした上で、第四年度の研究実績の概要は以下の通りである。第一に、既に草稿をまとめていた第5回東京サミットに関する論文の修正・投稿作業を進めると共に、第1回ランブイエサミット（及び第2回プエルトリコサミット）に関する論文草稿を執筆した。両論文共に2023年度公刊予定となっている。第二に、前年度に引き続きシェルパ経験者へのインタビューを実施した（本研究課題とはずれるが、1990年代後半部分について提供された日誌と併せて2023年度公刊予定）。第三に、本研究課題の対象後の時代に関わる日本のエネルギー資源外交について2本の論考を公刊した。なお、研究成果の公表に直接繋がったわけではないが、研究対象時期である初期経済サミットを分析・評価する上で、その後のG7サミット及びエネルギー資源ガバナンスの国際的展開と日本外交に関する視座について施策を深められたことは成果であった。
