本年度進めてきた研究実績は以下の通りである。まず、新型コロナウイルスの感染症により，海外調査が困難な状況が続いたため、収集したインタビュー調査データの分析や文献調査を軸に研究を進めた。具体的には、カタール大学が発行する統計資料を収集・整理し分析するとともにサウジアラビアで収集したインタビューデータの分析を行った。そのうちカタール大学の統計資料を基にカタール人男子・女子学生の進学実績や専門分野、大学院進学状況などを分析した内容の一部を２０２２年５月に開催された日本中東学会で発表した。また、カタール大学のSocial and Economic Survey Research Institute（SESRI）の協力を経て「カタール人の学位・学歴に関する意識調査」を実施した。１８歳以上のカタール人男女を対象にした電話調査が２０２２年１０月から１１月の間にSESRIにて行われ、現在データを取りまとめ分析を進めている。本研究は、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大の影響で調査対象国の変更を余儀なくされたものの、カタール国内の主要な社会調査専門機関であるSESRIの協力を得て、共同調査を行うことができた。幅広い年齢層のカタール人男女から１０００人以上のアンケート調査データを得られた点、またそのデータを分析することで世代間、男女間の高等教育および女性の高等教育をめぐる意識が明らかにできるなど、本研究の目的である中東湾岸の女性の高学歴化現象をめぐる社会的背景とその原因の究明に期待以上の成果が得られると考えている。

This study aims to investigate the impact of new types of SESRI infection on the development of the country's social research institutions. A survey of more than 1000 women and men in the middle of the age spectrum has been conducted to find out the points and analysis of higher education between generations, men and women, and higher education for women. The purpose of this study is to explore the social background and causes of female high education in the Middle East and to explore the results of the above research.
