本研究も、補助事業期間（5年間）の最終年度（2022年度）を迎えたが、本年度も、昨年度に引き続き、英国における一連の保険法制改革に係る関連文献や研究論文を収集するとともに、入手した資料について整理し、精査・分析を続けている。他方、2019年末以降、現在に至るまでの、本研究の補助事業期間の大半が、新型コロナ・ウィルスの発生と感染者急増に対する国内外の政策の影響を受けた結果、本研究は、当初、提出した「平成30年度（2018年度）基盤研究（C）（一般）研究計画調書」の通りには全く遂行できていない。本研究が目的とするのは、英国における一連の保険法制改革によって、1906年海上保険法が如何に変更されることとなったのか、その結果として、わが国をはじめ、諸外国の海上保険法制、海上保険実務にどのような影響が及ぶのかを解明することにある。当該目的の達成には、定期的に英国に赴き、現地研究者等と密に連携し、同国内における議論状況を把握し、その動向に対応していくことが欠かせない。しかしながら、2020年初頭以降、予定していた渡英は勿論、国内での移動も制限され、国内外における研究機関への訪問・調査をはじめ、海上保険に携わる実務家や研究者らとの面談を行うこともほぼ皆無であった。また、2021年度、参加を予定していた英国Southampton大学Institute of Maritime Law主催のThe 47th Maritime Law Short Course（上記「計画調書」参照）も中止（不開講）となった。そこで、本年（2023年）2月15日、本研究について、1年間の補助事業期間の延長を申請し、同年3月13日、承認された。
