项目摘要

本研究の目的は、１９２０～７０年代の日本における臨海開発（およびそれと密接に関連する水資源開発）、公害対策、自然保護の進展過程を多数の主体に着目して分析することである。世界史的にみても注目すべき史実が多く見られる神奈川県や東京湾岸を、おもな分析対象としている。このうち、本年度の研究実績は以下の通りである。臨海開発については、通商産業省関連資料、友納武人千葉県政関連資料、美濃部亮吉東京都政関連資料の収集・分析を進めた上で、以前から研究を進めてきた神奈川県政・横浜市政との比較に取り組んだ。また、近世～戦後における東京湾岸の観光・観光開発や、開発に伴なって勃興した新宗教運動の資料収集・分析も継続した。公害対策については、臨海開発に関連づけつつ、京葉の公害・公害対策についての調査を進めた。また、比較事例として、新生活運動に関連して行なわれた各地の反公害運動および公害対策についての調査を進め、その飛鳥田一雄横浜市政との共通点・相違点を検討した。自然保護については、先駆的な事例として、戦後神奈川県（とくに、鎌倉、横浜、横須賀）の自然保護運動にかんする既収集資料の再調査を継続した。さらに鎌倉の自然保護運動については、鎌倉市図書館近代史資料室所蔵資料の調査を実施することで、公刊資料よりも踏み込んだ分析が可能となった。また、研究成果として、雑誌『鎌倉市民』を舞台とする鎌倉の自然保護運動に関連する小文を公刊した。東京湾の開発と自然破壊についての英語論文も、2023年4月に刊行される。
