本研究の基礎である美術教育交流展の深化を図った。令和元年度から、一般的共通性として「北方圏に共通して見られる文化を学ぶこと」、もう一つは地域的特殊性として「北日本とフィンランドに見られる差異を通して自己の地域を見つめ直すこと」を深化を図る指針として交流展の取り組みを行ってきた。令和元年度は、「ふるさとへのまなざしーくらし、自然、文化、祭りー」を共通のテーマとして、両国のモチーフの相互交流制作を行った。令和2年度は、相手国の美術やデザインについて学んだ後に、自分達の視点で、トリビュートしたり改作したりして新たな作品にすることで、両国文化と自分やふるさとへの視点を深めた。令和3年度は、両国の生徒がフィンランドのテキスタイルの理念や造形の特長などを学んだ上で、広い意味のの“HOME”（家、家庭、自分、家族、故郷、故国 など）をテーマに、テキスタイルデザインに展開可能なパターンデザインを描いたり、仕立てたり、陶芸彫刻などにした。令和3年度交流展の展覧会講評会についても、遠隔で、秋田とフィンランドをネットで結び、両国の作品のモチーフなどに関する疑問や意見交換を行うなど生徒の意識の向上を図った。令和4年度は、新型コロナウイルスも下火になりフィンランドから教諭4名を招き、交流展を実施しすることができた。「旅を夢見る」というテーマでフィンランドと秋田の高校生が相手国を旅することを夢見ながら作品制作を行った。交流展における相互交流実践過程や作品及び意識などについても造形的な見方・考え方や、他教科の見方・考え方も含め一般的共通性と地域的特殊性についての両国の傾向について分析し研究の深化を図りたい。令和2年から新型コロナウイルスの本格的流行を受け、相互訪問を行うことが出来ず、研究について不便な点も多かったものの、ICTやSNSの活用を通してそれを補ってきた。
