本研究は19世紀のイギリスで興ったアーツ＆クラフツ運動に至る建築・工芸運動の日本への影響関係を考察しようとするものである。従来、西欧と日本の建築思潮の比較は形態上の比較が優先し、その背景となる思想に関する影響関係については20世紀以降のモダニズムの形成過程まで等閑視されてきたと考えられる。日本の近代建築史では、モダニズムの潮流に先駆けて英国で興ったゴシック・リヴァイヴァル運動やその延長上に位置するアーツ＆クラフツ運動の影響について言及されることは何故かほとんどなかったといえる。本研究では、これまでの研究成果を継承しながら、明治後期以降の建築界の思潮を形成するに至った過程をより深く検討していくことを目的としている。本研究は研究１：東京帝国大学の初期卒業生の思想の解明、研究２：日本の近代建築の思考と概念の特徴、研究3: 様式論争で用いられた論理と概念の分析、研究４：後世の建築論との比較検討、という4つのテーマから上記のアーツ＆クラフツ運動の日本への影響を明らかにすることを目的としている。これまでの研究で研究テーマの1から3についてはその理念的な側面や思潮としての理解を深化させることができたと考えるが、本年度はこれまで作品上ではアメリカのアーツ＆クラフツ運動の影響下にあったとされてきたF.L.ライトについて、初期制作論である“In the cause of architecture”の再考により、ライトの日本での紹介者であり同時代の建築家であった武田五一の制作論との共通性と両者の共通基盤としてのアーツ＆クラフツ運動の影響を確認することができた。上記の通り建築作品に到達するための制作の理論について本年度も研究を進め、アーツ＆クラフツ運動の中心課題であった装飾の役割や色彩論についても検討を行い、やがて否定されていく装飾についての世代間の相違についても具体的な知見が得られたと考える。

This study examines the relationship between the Japanese culture and the 19th century architecture movement. A comparison of architectural trends between Japan, Western Europe and China is made in terms of morphological comparison, priority, background and ideological influence, and the formation process of architectural trends since the 20th century. The history of modern architecture in Japan is based on the trend of British architecture. The movement of Japanese architecture extends the position of Japanese architecture. The influence of Japanese architecture on Japanese architecture is discussed. This study is based on the results of the study, and discusses the process of the formation of the trend of thought in the architectural field since the late Meiji period. This study consists of three parts: 1. Explaining the thoughts of the early graduate students of Tokyo Imperial University; 2. Thinking and conceptual characteristics of modern Japanese architecture; 3. Analyzing the logic and concepts of different types of debates; 4. Comparing and discussing the architectural theories of later generations; 4. The influence of Japanese architecture movement on Japanese architecture. This year's research is on the work of the author under the influence of the movement, and the initial production theory is "In the cause of architecture". The influence of the common base of Japanese architects on the construction of Takeda Wuyi was confirmed. In the past, the architectural works have reached the theoretical level of production. This year, the research has been carried out in the central topic of the movement. The decoration has been cut off. The color theory has been discussed in the discussion. The negation has been carried out in the decoration. The generation has been contradicted. The specific knowledge has been obtained.
