Since 2007, PhD students of the DFG Research Training Groups (RTGs) and other doctoral student programs in computer science have been meeting annually for networking and knowledge exchange purposes in Dagstuhl. Experience in recent years has shown that these meetings have proven to be very useful for all participants. For this reason, we are applying for additional funding to organize the Dagstuhl workshop in 2017 again.Since the participating RTGs come from different scientific areas, ranging from mechanical engineering / robotics to various orientations of computer science, including theoretical and practical computer science, the emphasis of the workshop will be interdisciplinary. The workshop at Dagstuhl aims to promote new collaborations among the participants from different RTGs, and to help building and reinforcing new and existing networks.Similar to the last Dagstuhl workshop, the PhD students of the different RTGs will have the opportunity to present their work concisely in fast-forward sessions. Afterwards, the participants will have the chance to discuss their work with a broad audience at their posters. These sessions will be scheduled for the first two days. Interleaving with these sessions, there will be different guest lectures on up-to-date topics, like "Big Data and Privacy", "Long-term Security", and "Demystifying IoT: How can we handle the connected World". Following these talks, the participants will have the opportunity to discuss the presented topics together with the experts in groups. In order to discuss interesting results of the group discussions with the entire audience, we plan to provide additional timeslots for presentations on the third day.
