近年、歯科医師国家試験は非常に合格するのが困難になっている。またCBT、OSCEの公的実施にむけ歯科医学教育の改善が求められている。今までの教育方法は学業の成績のみでの指導が主流であったが、既存の指導方法では成績が改善しない学生が多数存在している。1教科だけやあと少しの点数を向上させるにはその科目のみを教えれば点数があがるが、不合格科目が多い学生や全教科で点数が低い学生は生活習慣や家庭環境の改善が必要だと感じている。そこで専門科目の成績向上だけでなく、問題解決力やコミュニケーション力などのジェネリック・スキルの改善などに、主に小中高校や文系の就職活動などで活用されてきたアセスメント・テストが歯科医学教育にも有用だと考えた。その分析結果を参考にして学生本人と家庭（父兄）と大学が協力して、学生の多面的な教育改善をすすめていければと考えた。学生の学業成績データの中で経時的に比較検討する項目（専門科目別成績や学年別総括試験、学士試験（卒業認定試験）など）を整理し、どの項目が人工知能入力に適しているか比較・検討をしている。並行して1～6年生にアセスメント・テスト（PROGテストとGPS Academicテスト）を受けてもらい、学年や個人のデータを比較する。継続的に両テストを受けてもらいデータの推移を分析する。適宜、各学生にはアセスメント・テストの結果をフィードバックし自己の弱点や強化すべき点を教員と共に改善する。また得られたデータを人工知能に入力できるように、項目や数値化などの整理をする。国家試験やCBT,OSCEに合格した学生と不合格の学生の専門科目の成績結果とそれ以外（ポートフォリオ、アンケート、授業評価、アセスメント・テストなど）の結果を人工知能に入力し、合格するための指針を分析させる。
