本研究は、高齢者の歯科医療におけるコミュニケーションに着目し、「より良い高齢者との歯科医療コミュニケーションの要因とは何か」を明らかにすることを目的とする。令和4年度には、新型コロナウイルス感染症の拡大により延期していた調査について、承諾を得た数カ所の歯科医院において、終了することができた。そして年度後半には、データ入力を行い、患者因子を中心に歯科医師因子と連結したデータベースを構築した。データについて、高齢患者を対象として歯科へのかかり方の違いに着目し、関連する歯科医師、患者およびコミュニケーション因子について明らかにすることを目的として分析を行った。定期的な歯科受診をしている患者は102名（69.9%）であった。分析の結果、患者の歯科受診形態と歯科医師関連因子では“治療時間”と、患者関連因子では“独居”、“世帯収入”、“治療満足度”、“治療後の体調”と有意な関連がみられた。コミュニケーション因子では“歯科医師の印象”、“説明内容”、“説明態度に対する満足度”で有意な関連がみられた。具体的な歯科医師の態度として“自分の質問に対応してくれた”、“理解度について確認してくれた”等と有意な関連がみられた。以上の結果から、予防を目的とした定期的な歯科受診をしている高齢患者では、治療や歯科医師への説明に対する満足度が高く、良好なコミュニケーションがとれていることが示唆された。本研究結果については、来年度の口腔衛生学会にて発表する予定である。
