本研究の目的は、第二次世界大戦前後の時期における戦争に関する映像資料の構成と展開を基軸として、日欧米の公共的放送番組アーカイブを調査し、これまでおこなわれていなかった国際比較の観点にたって、それぞれの特性を解明することである。2022年度は、前年度に引き続き、アメリカの放送番組アーカイブ、フランスの放送番組アーカイブにおける調査結果に基づいて考察をおこなった。考察にあたっては、訪問調査やインタビューの結果およびデータベースにおけるコンテンツ収蔵の構造と戦争映像コンテンツ展開に関するデータの整理結果を参照し、日欧米各国の公共的放送番組アーカイブの比較分析をおこなった。また、日欧米の公共的放送番組アーカイブをコンテンツ展開の観点からも比較し、考察を進めた。その結果、以下の諸点について新たな知見を得た。(1)日欧米各国におけるテレビ放送の開始とアーカイブの成立時期および生成の経緯、(2)フィルムアーカイブと比較した放送アーカイブにおけるテレビ番組収蔵の特殊性についての日欧米それぞれの事情、(3)記録保存メディアの進化と放送アーカイブの発展過程における日欧米の比較、(4)番組保存に関する気運が高まった背景とアーカイブ構築の本格化における日欧米の差異、(5)現状について、欧米と比較した上での日本における放送アーカイブの課題。これらの知見について、調査および分析の結果を交えつつ、2022年7月と2023年3月に、学会研究会で発表した。
