The project focuses on the investigation of the synthesis of several new families of functionalized norbornadiene (NBD)- and quadricyclane (QC)- derivatives and their structural, photophysical and magnetical properties. With this approach a closed-loop solar energy cycle will be provided, which can be used for molecular energy storage.
