项目摘要

更年期女性の更年期の過ごし方や適応の実態を明らかにするために、前年度までに質問票による社会調査を行い、今年度は前年度に引き続き、得られたデータの詳細な分析と解析を行った。分析と解析には、統計解析ソフトSPSSを用いた。解析の結果、以下の知見が得られた。1.ライフイベントや生活ストレスの量と、更年期への適応の度合いには負の相関関係がある。2.更年期への対処法は、医療や保健福祉分野の専門的サポートが量・質ともに不十分であるため、家族や知人、特に趣味や地域活動を通じた共通の経験をもつ友人からのサポートが有効である。3.配偶者からのサポートは、直接更年期への適応に向けられるのではなく、生活ストレスの軽減やライフイベントへの適応といった間接的サポートに向けられる傾向がある。4.現状では、サポート資源の少ない人の生活の質(QOL)を改善する方策が見当たらない。以上のことから、更年期から高齢期を含めたQOL向上のため、以下の提言を行う。調査結果から有効なサポート源であった、友人や更年期経験者によるサポートグループやセルフヘルプグループを形成し、更年期への適応をサポートする。行政は、グループ形成の際のリーダー育成や公報活動などの側面的支援を行う。また、同時に医療分野、保健福祉分野の専門家の育成にも力を入れていくことが必要である。更年期に培ったサポートグループやセルフヘルプグループは、その後の高齢期における支え合い活動の基礎となる可能性を有する。高齢期からこういった活動を新たに起こすのは困難を伴うので、高齢期を見越した更年期へのサポート活動は、今後の高齢化社会において非常に有効であると結論する。
