本研究の課題は、長野県に居住する高齢有配偶女性を対象に1998年に行った調査を用いて、高齢有配偶女性に心理的ディストレスを生み出す社会的なメカニズムを明らかにすることである。ディストレスは個人の不快な主観的状態を示す概念であり、抑うつ・不安・身体的訴えなどによって測定されるが、本研究では抑うつを指標として採用し、ZungのSDS(Self-reporting Depression Scale)を用いた。分析のためのデータは、長野県老人大学の受講生である高齢有配偶女性554名から得られたものであり、有効回収率は79.4%であった。高齢有配偶女性の心理的ディストレスへの要因間の関連を明らかにするために、多変量分散分析、共分散分析、多重分類分析、クロンバッハのα係数を用いた。最初に、一般線形モデルによって心理的ディストレスを規定する属性要因を検討したところ、世帯年収が有意な効果を示し、世帯年収が低いものほど心理的ディストレスが高くなるという傾向が認められた。職業状況、年齢、世帯構成、およびこれらの変数の組み合わせが心理的ディストレスに及ぼす影響も検討したが、有意な効果は示されなかった。つぎに、心理的ディストレスを規定するサポート・ネットワーク要因を多変量解析によって検討したところ、夫婦の情緒的サポート、ソーシャルサポート、社会活動への参加の3変数が妻の心理的ディストレスに有意な効果を示した。最後に、上記の結果はどのような含意をもつのかを検討した。

This study was conducted in 1998 to investigate the psychological status of women living in Nagano Prefecture. In this study, the self-reporting SDS(Self-reporting Depression Scale) was used. Analysis: 554 women with spouses, 79.4% of whom are students of Nagano Senior University.
