実際に見たのか、それとも想像しただけなのかを問う、リアリティモニタリングを課すことで、虚記憶の生成が抑制されるのかを検討してきた。昨年度の小規模集団実験で、「見た」と聞くと「提示された」と聞くよりもルアー語の虚記憶が抑制されることが示されたので、本年度は、「見た」の条件の40名の個人実験を追加した。その結果、「見た」の教示によるルアー語の虚記憶の抑制は確認できなかったが、「提示された」の教示で実験参加者はルアー語の虚記憶について「提示されたし思い浮かべた」と判断しがちであるが、「見た」の教示で実験参加者は「確かに見た」と判断しがちであることがわかった。従来の研究では「見た」と「提示された」は同じように再認テストに用いられているが、異なるように働く可能性が示唆された。次に、新しい連想語頻度表（水野ら, 2011）を用いてルアー語を誤って思い出してしまうような単語リストの作成を試みた。その際に、反応語の上位に反応率が偏るリストと反応語の反応率が比較的均質なリストとを作り、その群間のルアー語の虚再生率やリスト語の再生率の比較から、ルアー語の虚記憶を生成しやすい条件を探る。現在、リスト語の再生率とルアー語の虚再生率とを算出しているところである。結果がまとまり次第、学会発表し、日本語の論文として執筆する予定である。最後に、人によって「白と金」に見えたり「青と黒」に見えたりするドレスの色の知覚と正解は何色かという判断に、経験や個人の特質、そして他人の意見がどのように影響するのかを検討した研究についてヨーテボリ大学で講演した。これは英語論文として執筆しており、投稿準備中である。ドレスの色の知覚と同様に多様な見えを提供するジャケットの写真の色の知覚と気候との関係を、3つの気候区分に住む人々を対象に調査した国際共同研究を行った。この研究は、国際学会でポスター発表され国際誌に投稿された。
