项目摘要

当該年度前半は、雲南省、河南省、香港等において、現地調査・調査機関への訪問を実施しながら研究活動を遂行した。沈従文が、河南省発行の新聞『河南民国日報』の副刊「平沙」に小説を発表した経緯と文壇的背景については、従来の研究で言及されることはほとんどなかったことから、河南省の図書館を訪問して初出テキストの収集及び資料調査等を行った。当該年度後半からは、研究環境の向上を目的として、台湾・国立清華大学に滞在して研究活動を行った。当該年度の研究成果発表としては、学会発表の機会を二度設けた。6月に開催された重慶科研・青島科研合同研究例会では、「沈従文「三三」における語りと〈少爺〉」という題名で、沈従文の湘西小説における「語り」の変遷に着目し、特に湘西の少女を主人公にした「三三」（1932）を中心に考察して口頭発表を行った。7月に開催された中国文芸研究会例会では、「「阿金」から「三三」へ――沈従文の湘西小説における語りと女性――」という題名で、湘西小説における女性の描かれ方について発表を行った。これらの発表成果は、沈従文の初期から後期にかけての作品表象及び創作活動に焦点を当て、「語り」と「女性」という観点から丹念に作品と思想の変遷を辿ったものであり、研究課題である「「湘西小説」における思想的展開」を概観する上で、極めて重要な成果である。現在、上記の発表内容に台湾での調査活動の知見を加え、論文を執筆中である。これ以降も、台湾において研究指導を受けながら、研究発表を行う準備をしていたものの、１月以降の新型コロナウイルス感染拡大の影響により、台湾では防疫対策としてあらゆる国際学会等が中止されるに至った。成果発表の機会を逸したことは大変遺憾であるが、台湾の調査機関で入手した資料や指導を受けた内容をもとに、2020年度に日本において成果発表及び論文投稿を行う計画である。
