本年度は、ワーキングメモリにおける情報の保持を支える次元を想定し、それらの次元に基づく類似性に注目し、ワーキングメモリにおける人物情報の保持を検討した。具体的に、本年度の研究実施状況は以下の2点が挙げられる。第一に、ワーキングメモリにおける社会的次元の影響を検討した。この研究では、初めに顔刺激のペアについて非類似性の評定を得た。次に、非類似性の評定値に基づき、似ている顔刺激のリストと似ていない顔刺激のリストに対する短期記憶成績を検討した。実験結果は、先行研究(Smyth et al., 2005)や記憶理論に一致し、顔の類似性が短期記憶成績にネガティブな影響を与えることを示した。最後に、顔の類似性がどのような次元に基づいて判断されるかを検討するため、多次元尺度構成法と主成分分析を組み合わせた分析を行った。実験結果は、顔の類似性が信頼性と力という2次元に基づき評価されることを示した。この研究は学術雑誌に採択されている。第二に、ワーキングメモリにおける意味的次元の影響を検討した。この研究では、人物情報が意味情報の一部であるという仮定から、人物情報に限らない一般的な単語についての意味的次元の影響を検討した。初めに、先行研究の結果について、メタ分析の一種であるメタ回帰分析を行い、意味的類似性が短期記憶成績にネガティブな影響を与えることを示した。また、メタ回帰分析の結果は、先行研究では意味的類似性の操作と意味的連合の操作が交絡している可能性を示すとともに、先行研究の操作においては、意味的類似性や意味的連合以外の要因も交絡している可能性も示した。続いて、これらを統制した上で、心理学実験を行った。実験結果は意味的類似性が短期記憶にネガティブな影響を与えることを示した。メタ回帰分析を行った研究は査読中であり、心理学実験を行った研究は投稿準備中である。
