本研究は、短期記憶における意味情報の保持メカニズムの解明を目的とし、意味的類似性が短期記憶成績に与える影響の検討に取り組んでいる。本年度は、昨年度の「今後の研究の推進方策」に示していた研究計画に従い、リストレベルでの意味的類似性効果を検討した。理論的レビュー(Ishiguro & Saito, 2021)は「意味的連合とアイテム-カテゴリ関係は記憶成績を向上させるが、意味的類似性は記憶成績を低下させる」という予測を行なっている。本研究では、意味的連合とアイテム-カテゴリ関係を統制し、意味的類似性を操作した。実験1では、直後系列再生課題を用い、意味的類似リストと意味的非類似リストを用いた2条件の記憶成績の比較を行なった。条件間の成績差は見られなかった。実験2では、直後系列再構成課題を用い、実験1の追試を行なった。実験1の結果同様に、条件間の成績差は見られなかった。実験3は、実験1のデータを用い、様々なリストを用いた実験を仮想的に作るというシミュレーションを行なった。シミュレーションの結果は、意味的類似性の操作（i.e., 意味的類似リストと意味的非類似リストの意味的類似性の差）が大きい実験ほど、成績が低下するという結果を示した。実験1, 2の結果は、意味的類似性の負の効果を示さない。しかし、実験3の結果は、意味的類似性の負の効果を示す。なお、理論的レビュー(Ishiguro & Saito, 2021)は、複数の実験に対しメタ分析を行なった結果に基づく。これらのことから、単一の実験では意味的類似性の負の効果は示されないが(実験1, 2)、複数の実験間の比較においては意味的類似性の負の効果が示される(実験3, 理論的レビュー)可能性がある。意味情報の保持メカニズムには未解明な部分が多い。引き続き意味的類似性を検討することにより、意味情報の保持メカニズムの解明を目指す。

The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between the retention of meaningful information and the evaluation of short-term memory performance. This year's "Future Research Promotion Strategy" shows that the research plan is similar to that of the previous year.
