项目摘要

本年度は、昨年度に行った文献資料調査と画像データの収集の成果を承け、さらにそれを推し進めながら、得た情報を本研究課題の枠組みの中に位置付けてゆく作業から着手した。4月末から5月末にかけては欧州での調査滞在を行った。調査先は、イタリアの在フィレンツェドイツ美術史研究所、大聖堂古文書館、イタリア国立図書館、そしてスイスのフリブール大学であり、文献収集を引き続き行いながら、作品実見調査、フォトテカや各機関のデータベースを利用しての画像資料の収集に注力した。帰国後は、第42回地中海学会大会（於和歌山県新宮市）において行われたシンポジウム「聖なるモノ」に登壇し、欧州で得た研究成果を含めて報告を行うことが出来た。タイトルは、「巡礼・聖地・聖遺物 ―日欧巡礼体験からの一考察―」とし、聖遺物を中心に如何に聖地が形成されていったか、またそこを訪ねる巡礼のシステムが如何に構築されていったのかという問いを、中世ヨーロッパでの現象に主眼をおきながらも日本の伝統との比較を試み、グローバルアートヒストリーの視点を取り入れた報告とすることが出来たと考えている。12月初頭から3月末にかけては、二度目の欧州滞在を行った。2月半ばまではフィレンツェに滞在し、上半期の調査と同様、ドイツ美術史研究所をベースに研究活動を展開した。フィレンツェ国立修復研究所や大聖堂付属博物館でも有意義な調査を行うことが出来た。その後スイスのフリブールに移動し、ミケーレ・バッチ教授との面談、議論を経て、中世学のコロキウムで研究成果をTo have a "Mobile Sainte Chapelle" in a hand, a French Royal Reliquary, the so-called Libretto ― on its multiple functions and its originというタイトルで発表した。
