今年度実施したことは、主に2点ある。1点目、昨年度に実施した研究を、論文としての投稿・報告した。2点目、先行研究を網羅的に俯瞰する、文献レビューを行った。1点目として、採用年度1年目に行った研究（食品の単位重量当たりの温室効果ガス排出量データベースの作成）をもとにして採用年度2年目に行った、次の2報の研究について、論文原稿（英語）の修正と、国際誌への投稿を行った：①食事由来の温室効果ガス排出量と健康指標との関連の検証、②食事由来の温室効果ガス排出量を低減し、栄養学的な食事の質が改善される食事パターン（食品の構成と組み合わせ）の探索。研究論文①については、国際誌PLOS ONEに投稿し、受理された（PLoS One. 2020;15(10):e0240803）。研究論文②のついては現時点で投稿中である。2点目として、食品の温室効果ガス排出量データベースの開発方法と特徴に焦点をあてて、食事由来の温室効果ガス排出量に関する栄養疫学研究のレビューを行った。抽出された78報から32種類の食品の温室効果ガス排出量データベースが特定された。このうちの12種類では、食品の温室効果ガス排出量が統一された方法で包括的に計算されていたが、計算方法はデータベースにより異なった。残りの20種類では、独立した複数の出版物から食品の温室効果ガス排出量を集約していた。90食品以上の温室効果ガス排出量が含まれる、国や地域固有のデータベースが7種類あり、これらは他のデータベースと比べて利用される頻度が多い傾向が見られた（データベースあたり3~18報）。以上より、食品の温室効果ガス排出量データベースの開発方法は2つに大別され、国または地域固有かつ90以上の食品数をもつデータベースが有用であることが示唆された。
