Conducting fieldwork in Thailand was crucial for sharpening my argument and deepening my understanding of the dynamics of transnational activism in Asia. Through interviews with Thai and Myanmar activists, NGO staffs, and observers in Thailand, I discovered a well-established and thriving cross-national network among pro-democracy youth activists in Asia. This network, which has been developed and nurtured over many years, provided significant evidence to help me comprehend and make sense of the impact of globalization on collective actions and social movements in Northeast and Southeast Asia. These interactions significantly explained the diffusion of offline campaigns among youth activists in various Asian countries. Moreover, the research data I collected greatly contributed to a more nuanced understanding of the flow of knowledge and grassroots networks in this region, reflecting the interaction between Northeast and Southeast Asia.Overall, conducting fieldwork in Thailand not only enriched my argument but also provided valuable insights into the interconnectedness and impact of transnational activism in the region.
