Retrospective conversion of archival finding aids for the Hamburg State Archive’s collection “Senat”

Within the scope of this project it is intended to digitize the findings aids for the collection 111-1 Senat, hitherto consisting of 82 mostly handwritten inventories. This collection forms a key record group of the Hamburg State Archive. The documents contained therein are a fundamental source for research on various topics connected to the history of Hamburg from the late middle ages to the beginning of the twentieth century. The project’s aim is to make the descriptive metadata available online both via the archive’s own database and via the Archivportal-D in order to facilitate access to the documents contained in the said collection for academic as well as for non-academic users.
