今年度は、昨年度から継続してオンタリオ州子ども・ユースアドボカシー事務所から支援を得て、当事務所が閉鎖された後も当事者ユースでグループを立ち上げ、州政府が提供する子ども・ユース支援に当事者の声を反映したものに再編するよう働きかける活動を起こしたセルフアドボカシー団体Ontario Children's Advancement Coalition（以下、OCAC)と、オンラインによる交流を重ね、当事者活動の進捗状況についてインタビュー調査を行った。結果として以下のことを把握した。昨年度、州政府とOCACらと協議しながら、子ども・ユース支援に関するサービスを州より提供すると覚書が交わされたことを確認したが、その後、これら当事者団体と州政府とが共同して、18歳以降、当事者が経済的、社会的、精神的に独立していく過程を支えるために、指標を示すことができるよう協議を重ねていくことを把握した。その指標を作成してく当事者団体と州政府との協議の過程を今後も追っていくこととする。またこうした当事者が行うアドボカシー過程は、子どもとユースアドボカシーの教育を受けていたり、当事者が以前にアドボカシーの支援を受けて、そのアドボカシーの過程を踏むなかで自然とアドボカシーを学んだりしているため、アドボカシーの過程について教育を受けたり、知見をもっている仲間が多く存在している必要がある。そして、その仲間を中心にアドボカシー活動を動かしていくこととなる。こうした、子ども・ユースアドボカシーの知見をもった子どもやユースを育てるための教育プログラムを今後把握することとする。
