研究協力者と定期的にミーティングを行い、研究計画の円滑な運営を行った。表情分析の専門資格（認定Facial Action Coding System coder）を有し表情研究を専門に行っている、サンフランシスコ州立大学のDavid Matsumoto教授、空気を読むを科学する研究所の清水建二氏の研究協力を確約した。これにより、研究実施における分析の補助および知識の提供を受けることができ、より質の高い研究の実施が可能となった。必要な研究機材、刺激素材の収集が完了した。先行研究で用いられた映像刺激素材を入手し、論文著者より当該研究での使用許可を得た。また、実験に必要なカメラ、モニター、再生機器など実験機材を整えた。研究の本実験前に、4名の被験者を対象に予備調査を行った。当該研究の目的である「日本人の基本表情を明らかにする」ために必要な実験環境を確認した。予備実験により、研究に必要な実験刺激の選定、適切な環境設定（モニターと被験者の距離、音量、教示の方法および内容、撮影方法）を行うことができた。令和4年度に本実験を開始するための準備が整っており、当初の研究計画通りに研究を行えている。表情の撮影方法に加え、主観的感情機能の評価方法を設定した。実験刺激の呈示後に被験者は自身の感情状態を質問紙にて回答するが、その質問紙の内容を決定した。被験者の認知的負荷が高まらず、かつ被験者の感情状態を正確に評価できるよう、感情の種類の強制選択方式に加え、感情の強度を10段階で評価する方法を採用した。当該研究のメインアウトカムを確認した。分析対象とする表情（Action Unit）を設定し、Target感情を決定した。
