2年目であるR4年度は，昨年度病理組織学的所見を解析し抽出した，初回切除で完全切除できていたメラノーマ症例のうち，追加切除標本内に「メラノーマ様細胞」の出現が確認できた症例に関して，①「メラノーマ様細胞」の分布の比較，②初回切除時の腫瘍細胞と，追加切除時の「メラノーマ様細胞」の免疫組織化学的性質の比較を行った．①「メラノーマ様細胞」は，当初初回切除瘢痕を中心として狭い範囲に限局して存在することが想定されていたが，実際には追加切除標本に広く分布しており，追加切除標本の側方断端まで存在していることを確認できた．また，初回切除の際，真皮内浸潤の所見がみられた症例においても，メラノーマ様細胞はあくまで表皮基底層を中心に存在していた．②免疫組織学的には，腫瘍細胞の性質は概ね初回切除時の腫瘍細胞の性質と類似していることを確認できた．
