项目摘要

2022年度は、2つの研究計画に取り組むことができた。1.　第16回日本セーフティプロモーション学会で、「米国のDVとペットの関係性の調査結果と、日本のDVシェルターへのインタビュー調査」という題目で口頭発表を行った。発表の内容は、昨年度、実施した、DV被害者シェルター、3か所のスタッフと、DVや子ども虐待の被害者でありながら、動物虐待も見て育った被害者7名へのインタビュー調査の結果を発表した。米国の調査と同じように、「ペットを置いて逃げるわけにいかない」、「シェルターにペットを連れて行ってもよいか」という問い合わせは、日本のシェルターに寄せられていることがインタビュー調査から明らかとなった。このことから、日本でもDVと動物虐待は同時発生的に起きていることを、学会発表のなかで報告をした。ペットのことが心配で、シェルターに避難することを躊躇することが多いのは、一人暮らしの高齢女性が多いことも発表をし、学会発表の場で意見をもらうことができた。北海道内3か所のDVシェルターをインタビュー調査をしたところ、1か所は試験的に、シェルターの1室を、ペット同伴可にしている報告も行うことができた。しかし、ペット不可のシェルターでは、「ペットは不可です」と電話で告げると、そのまま連絡がなくなることや、ペットを置いて逃げてきても、「ペットが心配」で、3日程度で、家に戻ってしまう被害者の方が多いことも、学会で問題提起として報告をした。2.　「対人暴力と動物虐待の関連についてのアンケート調査」を作成し、獣医学部の学生236名から回答を得ることができた。現在、英語での論文を執筆中である。
