项目摘要

研究題目は「明治以降の近代日本における信仰遺物の「語り」と「記憶」の研究」とし、とりわけ明治中期以降、昭和中期にかけて起ったキリシタン・ブーム期のキリシタンイメージ形成における「聖遺物」の果たした役割について研究するものである。本研究の初年度（合計3年）は、以下の3件の研究調査並びに聴き取りを行った。一つ目は、長崎県平戸市である。「平戸市生月町博物館・島の館」の所蔵品並びに長崎キリシタンの第一人者である本博物館学芸員の中園成生氏に聞き取りを行い、本研究の現在地点についての状況を聞くと共に、中園氏の主張や考えを聞くことが出来た（6月11日～12日）。二つ目は、福岡県福岡市の西南学院大学博物館を訪問し、キリシタン関連の所蔵品の閲覧ならびに学芸調査員鬼束芽依氏への聴き取りを行った（6月14日）。西南学院大学博物館にはキリシタン聖遺物に該当する所蔵品が多くあり、その中でも、真偽の不明な所蔵品も少なくない。これらが博物館に届いた由来やあまり公開されていない所蔵の経緯について話を聞くことが出来たのは有意義であった。三つ目は、大阪府茨木市にある「茨木キリシタン遺物史料館」の所蔵品調査ならびに職員でありキリシタンの末裔関係者である東麻里亜氏への聴き取り調査を行った。また、2022年11月25日15時から、同志社大学神学部主催・基督教研究会の公開講演を行った。上記の研究調査などを用い、資料提示の許可や学芸員たちからの助言なども頂戴した。講演会のテーマは「キリシタン研究の現在－キリシタン・イメージの形成とキリシタン・ブームに関する考察－」と題して行った。その内容は、同志社大学のホームページ内、同志社大学神学部・神学研究科オープンコースウェア（OCW）から講演動画が視聴できる（URL:https://ocw.theo.doshisha.ac.jp/movie/?pk=1672025198）
