Location research for PHASE ONE was carried out in the region where the International Linear Collider (ILC) is hoped to be built. This fieldwork included rephotography conducted in July by the PI and 2 university students in 4 locations (Ichinoseki, Daito-cho, Oshu, Tono). Further rephotography was conducted by the PI in September (Kitakami, Daito-cho, Ichinoseki) and February (Tono, Hanamaki). Draft photobooks were made for every location (total of 16 books). Each photobook contains visual documentation of change (e.g. photographs, maps) that will facilitate rephotography in planned workshops. Although a project blog was created, other options for a public online archive of images will be considered.
