项目摘要

本研究は宗教テクスト学の重要性を再認識しつつ、寺院聖教における書写・伝授のネットワーク、及びその中核となる教相・事相における縦軸（真言密教のなかの頼瑜教学）と横軸（同時代宗教界のなかの頼瑜教学）を明確化し、頼瑜とその法流が中世顕密仏教の中でどのような意義を有する宗教実践をしたのか、またそれらの中世日本の宗教改革運動における位置づけを明らかにするものである。以上の課題意識に基づき、2022年度において、頼瑜と大伝法院流における宗教実践に焦点を当て、儀礼と宗教テクストをめぐる信仰と実践の在り方について考察してきた。その中でも特に、講式という宗教儀礼テクストを取り上げた。講式は儀礼テクストとして作者と制作目的によって、文書の表現が多様でありながら、願主および法会の対象によって文句が改変されたことがある。また、講式は儀礼テクストとして読み上げられながら、教義を説くテクストとして教団内外において書写、相承されたものである。講式は儀礼のために作られたテクストであるが、それはどのような〝場〟において唱えられたのであろうか。また修辞を凝らして作文される講式については、法会という宗教実践を通してどのように作者の思想と信仰を表明したのかを考える必要がある。研究代表者は2022年度の研究では、頼瑜が『真俗雑記問答鈔』における覚鑁撰『舎利供養式』に関する記述に注目し、儀礼テクストとしての講式が、如何にして宗教実践と連動して受容されたのか、またその信仰の在り方が頼瑜とその周辺においてどのように展開され、継承されたのかを検討した（「密教浄土教に展開する舎利と宝珠―覚鑁の講式とその儀礼空間」国際ワークショップ「日本中世のことば・ほとけ・図像」、「宗教儀礼テクストに展開する実践と信仰の複合性―覚鑁撰『舎利供養式』をめぐって」国際シンポジウム「宗教遺産をめぐる真正性―宗教遺産テクスト学の発展的展開」）。
