本研究は中国戯曲は江戸時代（1603-1868）に「書承」によって受容された中国戯曲文献を、独自の体例を持つ＜書入れ＞の理解を通じて当時の受容実態を明らかにする研究である。特に日本の中国戯曲受容の最初期である江戸時代特有の理解形成過程を解明することを目論むものである。本研究の１年目は所定の計画通りに研究を進め、以下の活動と成果を収めた。1.江戸時代に輸入した中国戯曲文献の調査および調査方法の検討。2.江戸時代に輸入した中国戯曲文献『水滸記』訳文の翻刻および書入れ事項のデータ化。3.水滸記訳本群を通じて中国戯曲の受容過程を評価するための「評価基準リスト」の作成。1.江戸時代に輸入した中国戯曲文献の調査および調査方法の検討について、江戸時代の中国戯曲文献の受容を示す記述を中心に文献、記述をまとめデータ化を行い、研究のための基礎資料を作成した。これまで資金が無くてできなかったデータ収集と整理を行うことができた。2.江戸時代に輸入した中国戯曲文献『水滸記』訳文の翻刻および書入れ事項のデータ化について、無名氏『水滸記訳本』抄本の「書入れ」部分の文字起こしと読解を進めた。3.水滸記訳本群を通じて中国戯曲の受容過程を評価するための「評価基準リスト」の作成について、テキスト内の書入れ傾向を15種22項目の評価基準を作成した。以上の研究を、学会発表３件（国内学会における招待講演１件、国際シンポジウムにおける研究発表２件）、論文1本（国内学会1本）を発表した。特に日本における中国戯曲の初期的受容が幕府主導の漢籍理解から発した流れがあることは国外から様々な反応があり、周知や広く成果を公開する意味からも、海外において積極的に情報を発信する必要があると感じた。
