本研究は、元から明にいたる時期の演劇発展史の中で、演劇と庶民文芸の協力関係及び影響の実態を解明し、特に明代後期の演劇再創作に庶民文芸が果たした役割を明らかにしようとするものである。2008年度は以下の通り計画を実行した。1.早稲田大学演劇博物館旧蔵曲本リストの作成演劇博物館が所蔵する中国古代(民国初期も含む)の庶民文芸に関する資料を調査。中でも曲本に関する資料が豊富でかつ価値を有するものであったため、明代から民国初期にいたる演劇博物館像中国曲本関係資料リスト(243種)を作成。2.「俗文学叢刊」所収庶民文芸テキストの整理・文類「俗文学叢刊」目録を入力し、資料リストを作成した。中国中山大学黄仕忠教授(専門;中国古典戯曲版本学)の協力を仰ぎ版面を調査した結果、抄本としての筆勢や体例、封面を欠く点などの特徴から「俗文学叢刊」第二輯から第五輯までの収録文献は内府本(宮廷音楽署管理のテキスト)である可能性が高いことが分かった。これにより「俗文学叢刊」が持つ資料としての性格が明らかとなり、今後更に調査することとなった。3.湖南地方出版の戯曲唱本資料の収拾及び調査演博所蔵資料を整理検討した結果、特に湖南地方(中湘九総)のテキストが多いにもかかわらず、調査されていないことが明らかとなった。演劇博物館には37種の唱本があり、復旦大学古籍整理研究所呉格教授、鄭利華教授の協力を仰ぎ、復旦大学蔵の趙景深文庫の分類・整理状況を参考に整理した結果、他にないテキスト13種を含む貴重な資料であることを確認した。4.購入資料から庶民文芸にかかわる資料を入力・データ化購入資料のうち『地方志書目文献叢刊』、『古本戯曲劇目提要』などの庶民文芸の活動記録を収める40種200冊あまりの書籍をスキャン・データ化する作業を行い、目録データと連動するデータベースのインデックス部分を作成した。
