本研究は、日本語史の転換期とも言える中世における動詞を対象とし、自動詞・他動詞の対応の傾向・特徴にそれまでの時代と違いがあるか否かの確認と、中世後期以降盛んになってゆく四段動詞の下二（一）段化と自動詞・他動詞の対応との関係の解明を主たる目的とするものである。前者についてはデータの収集と検討を進めているところであるが、現時点ではそれまでの時代との違いを見出せていない。特に、四段他動詞・下二段自動詞のペアが対象を傷つけるような意味の動詞に偏るという傾向も維持しているように見えるが、これは中世後期以降に下二（一）段化の例が多く見られる「読む」「言ふ」「書く」とは特徴が異なるため、注意を要する。後者について、中世後期の抄物に見られる「ヨメル」の類いが四段動詞が下一段化したものなのか、それとも「ヨム」に助動詞「リ」が付いたものなのかといった議論がある。その検討をするために、中世前期の明恵関連の聞書を複数調査し、それに基づき口頭発表をした。調査対象に聞書を選んだのは、中世前期の資料の中でも口語的な表現が特に期待されること、聞書が作られた背景が抄物と通ずるところがあり、言語的特徴にも通ずるところがある可能性が期待されること、という点による。その結果、口語において助動詞「リ」は廃れつつあったと一般的には認識されているが、聞書にはある程度の用例が見られること、その「リ」の特徴として、中古から中世にかけての他の資料に見られるのと異なり、文末において終止形で使われる用例に偏ることが明らかとなった。中世後期に見られるようになる「ヨメル」の類いも文末近くで「ヨメルゾ」のように用いられることがあるため、下一段化の例と助動詞「リ」との間に関係があるかについてはなお慎重に検討する必要がある。

This study aims to confirm the era and characteristics of the verb analogies, automatic words and other verbs in the Middle Ages, and to clarify the main purpose of the relationship between the verb analogies and other verbs in the late Middle Ages. The former is the opposite of the former. The latter is the opposite of the former. The former is the opposite of the latter. In the latter case, in the late Middle Ages, when copying things, see "" and "" in the category, there are four verbs in the next paragraph, and the auxiliary verb "" is in the middle of the discussion. A number of investigations have been conducted into the early Middle Ages, and some reports have been published. The investigation of the language features of the early Middle Ages was carried out in accordance with the expectations of the early Middle Ages.
