本研究は、学校教育における外国語教育の質的向上の実現に向けて、ALTと学校教員による実践を協働的に省察する専門職学び合うコミュニティを構築し、協働省察を通じた実践的力量を育む過程を明らかにすることを目的とする。目的遂行のために、次の二つの研究課題を実施してきた。①「ALTと学校教員による教育実践を語り合う会」の運営及び定期開催を行うことによって、実践を協働的に省察する専門職として学び合うコミュニティの構築過程及びメカニズムを解明する。協働による実践を省察する学び合うコミュニティの理論的・実践的研究については、オンラインで自主参加の「ALTと学校教員による外国語教育実践を語り合う会」の運営及び月一回の開催を行い、教師教育学理論の視点からその実践を考察し、事例研究に基づき、学び合うコミュニティが形成され、持続するモデルを提示するように試みた。３年間に渡り「ALTと学校教員による外国語教育実践を語り合う会」に申し込んだ参加者へのアンケート調査を分析し、ALTが専門性向上のニーズを洗い出して、投稿論文としてまとめた。②ナラティブ・インクワイアリー(Narrative Inquiry)という質的研究手法を用いて、ALTと学校教員の実践的力量を検討することによって、専門職として学び合うコミュニティを通して、ALTと学校教員の実践的力量を促す要因及び直面する課題を明らかにしようとしている。それに加えて、３人のALTに着目して、授業参観、ALTの専門性向上に関わる質問紙調査及びインタービュを行い、論文を執筆している。

This study aims at clarifying the quality of foreign language education in schools and at improving the quality of foreign language education in schools. Objective: To implement the research project of the second stage.
