项目摘要

本研究の目的は、7～12世紀の日本の宮廷儀礼・生活文化が、どのような面で東アジアと不可分(あるいはその逆)で、また、いかなる部分で東アジアの国際情勢の変化を受けたのかについて明らかにすることにある。この点をふまえ、本年度は、次年度以降の研究の基礎作業として、香薬や書籍など、本研究とかかわる品目について、東アジアにおける移出・移入状況の整理と、その背後にある王権の規制・政策などの変遷についての検討を行った。以上の成果を、①学会報告を1回、②論文執筆を2本(いずれも未発表。次年度以降の発表を予定)という形でまとめた。また、③関係する史跡の実地調査を行った。①については、2022年12月に「唐朝の対外交易規制と遣唐使・海商」というタイトルで実施した。本発表では、唐朝が展開した対外交易規制といわゆる「遣唐使から海商へ」という日本の対外関係の質的変化の内実についての考察を行った。②は、1つは主に上記①の成果などをふまえ、文章化を行ったものになる。具体的には、7～9世紀の東アジア国際交流に大きな影響を与えていた唐朝の対外交易規制について、既往の理解の精緻化とそこにおける香薬流通の様相の実態についてまとめた。とりわけ香薬は、日本のみならず東アジア広域で流通・消費され、医学・仏教儀礼・薫香など、種々の用途に使用された。これについて、唐朝の政策によって、それ以前より大量の香薬が中国に集中することとなり、それが当該期東アジアにおける種々の文化の成熟につながったとの見通しを示した。もう1つは、当該期における僧の日中往来とそこにおける文物の移出・移入について分析したものの一部を文章化をした。いずれも、次年度以降、公表を想定している。③は、研究の焦点となる北九州、京都などの重要地点について、事前の調査を行った上で踏査し、硫黄、香薬、生活文化などの情報収集を実施した。
