初年度である2022年度は、以下の成果を挙げた。(1)史料整理敗戦時、敗戦後の日本国外、元占領地に存在した企業財産に関する未整理史料の整理を進め（アルバイト雇用）、約1700点分の詳細な目録を完成させた。この過程で、1945年8月から1946年に至るまでの中国大陸残留者の日記を発見し、2023年度に翻刻、発表することとした。(2)在外財産調査をめぐるGHQ、日本政府に関する研究2023年度以降に未整理史料を利用した個別企業財産の研究を行う準備作業として、外務省史料、日本銀行史料、GHQ/SCAP文書をもとに、連合国、特にアメリカの対日占領政策、賠償政策における在外財産の位置づけの変遷と、大蔵省による在外財産調査事業の実態、GHQ、日本政府による在外財産集計における審議内容を明らかにした研究を発表した。敗戦時の企業財産をめぐる大局的な状況、議論を把握したことで、2年目以降に企業史料を分析する際に必要な背景智識を補完することができたと考える。また、土地勘のなかった戦後史料（外務省、大蔵省、GHQ/SCAP文書など）の探し方、利用方法についても最低限を身につけたことで、計画時に予定していたよりもより広範な史料収集の可能性を確認することができた。
