本研究の目的は、障害理解教育として広く行われている障害疑似体験を、「障害者理解」ではなく「自己理解」のための体験として開発し評価することである。従来の障害疑似体験は、障害者への理解を促進するとされる一方、障害者に対する誤解や偏見を助長するとの指摘がなされてきた。そして、その批判を乗り越えるため、実施者が精緻に構造化した内容で実施する方法が求められている。しかし、誤解や偏見が生じないよう綿密に練られた体験は、実施者の意図する「正解」に誘導されたものに過ぎない。そこで、環境との相互作用として「障害」を体験し、身体性（不安、驚き、違和感など）を掘り下げることで「障害の問題」を障害者の問題でなく、誤解や偏見を生み出す「自身の問題」としてとらえる疑似体験プログラムを開発する。2022年度は、先行研究および本研究のパイロットスタディを含めた研究成果をまとめ、「障害疑似体験を『身体』から再考する」と題し、共著として『障害理解のリフレクションー行為と言葉が描く〈他者〉と共にある世界ー』を（株）ちとせプレスより2023年3月に出版した。また、視覚障害当事者である研究者に協力を依頼し、実際にアイマスク体験活動に参加してもらいながら指導助言を得る、実験的試みを行った。その際、プログラムを再構成するための材料とすべく実験時の音声と動画データ、参加者の談話データを収集した。さらに時期を並行して、学生を対象に障害疑似体験を3回実施した。2022年8月には、日本教育学会第81回研究大会にて、「身体は思考する－障害理解批判と自己変容の疑似体験－」と題し発表した。
