We will combine astrophysical observations with extensive chemical analysis of the meteorites to describe the time evolution of organic diversity/complexity during planet formation. The focus of the project is the analysis of the survival and possible emission signature of complex organic matter in the atmospheres of known exoplanets as well as that of protoplanetary discs, where new planets are born. The high energy stellar radiation might destroy/transform the complex organic matter in the atmospheres. Thus, the thorough analysis of meteorites, will feed our understanding of the formation and transformation of complex organic molecules from the primitive polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons to nitrogen, sulfur and oxygen rich compounds as a result of planetary evolution.
