In order to understand how spatial segregation affects our perception and memory about a space, electrophysiological signal was collected from the hippocampal area of mouse when the animal was navigating open platforms with different floor textures. On the "segregated" platform, a speed bump-like protrusion on the floor segregated the platform into two halves; while on the "non-segregated" platform, a protrusion with identical length and width existed but did not segregate the platform.In the past year, I built hyperdrives equipped with multiple individually-adjustable tetrodes and successfully collected CA1 multiunit signals from 5 mice. The data are to be preprocessed and analyzed.
