本研究は、抗がん剤治療を受けた固形がん患者における腫瘍崩壊症候群（Tumor lysis syndrome, TLS）を主題としている。名古屋市立大学病院における過去13年間（2007年～2019年）の診療データを解析し得られた知見（先行パイロット研究）をもとに、関連施設である同学医学部附属東部医療センターおよび西部医療センターを含む合計3施設の共同研究に規模を拡大し、8,000例超を用いた大規模な診療データ解析を行う。当研究の目的は、①過去15年間超におけるTLS発症率とその年推移、がん種ごとの発症率の違い、および抗がん剤治療との関連性評価、②TLS発症に係るリスク因子の解析、③TLS発症予測モデルの構築と当モデルの実臨床での有用性評価、である。研究期間は3年間を計画しており、1～2年目で①および②を、3年目で③までを行う予定である。1年目の令和4年度においては、最初に共同研究機関（東部医療センター、西部医療センター）2施設の倫理審査委員会へ研究の実施を申請し、承認を得た。次に、先行パイロット研究から期間を延長して診療データを抽出する、また共同研究機関2施設に拡大して診療データを抽出するのに際し、まず先行パイロット研究の解析手法の見直しを行った。その結果、新たに追加が必要なデータ抽出項目、および解析上の改善すべき課題が見出されたため、共同研究者と対応を協議した。特に、近年増加傾向にある内服の抗悪性腫瘍剤での治療に関する解析方法は当研究の課題であると考えられ、先行パイロット研究での診療データを用いて再度検討を深めた結果、当領域の解析方法に関する方針を確立するに至った。現在、これを受けて、2007年～2023年の17年間を対象に研究実施機関3施設での診療データ抽出および解析の完了を目指し、研究協力者等と連携しつつ研究を進行させている。
