本研究の目的は、クリティカルケア領域の看護師の五感とテクノロジーを用いた観察技術をモデル化することである。本研究のモデル化までの過程は、①ICU看護師の観察技術（テクノロジーと五感）の項目を明確化すること、②明確化された項目を基に観察技術を可視化するためのガイド図を作成すること、③ガイド図を基にフィールド調査を実施すること、④調査結果に基づき観察技術をモデル化することである。当該年度の目的は、ICU看護師が用いる観察指標・項目（テクノロジーと五感）を文献レビューにて明確化することであった。国内外の文献レビューを通して、急性期の看護師が患者の変化を認識するための生理学的指標や生理学的指標以外の客観的項目、主観的項目（患者の訴え）が明らかとなった。テクノロジーに関する観察指標・項目は「モニターの変化」と集約されていることもあり、これについてはICUで使用される主要な機器である生体情報モニター（バイタルサインをモニタリングする装置）及び人工呼吸器を装着している患者の看護に関する文献を調査し、明確化した。明確化した観察指標・項目を患者の臨床状態別及び五感・テクノロジー別に整理し、ICU看護師を対象としたインタビューを行う際に使用する原案を作成した。原案作成において、生理学的指標の中には、看護師の五感なのかテクノロジーによる観察指標なのかの区別が困難なものが含まれるため、再検討していく。また生体情報モニターと人工呼吸器以外のテクノロジーに関する文献の調査を引き続き実施する。
