思考の異常や自我の障害を主とした疾患である統合失調症の人々が、活動制限や参加制約による社会的な孤立や自尊心の低下（國方ら2006）を持ち合わせながらも、地域において自分らしく生活を構築するためにどのような自己概念を形成し、症状のコントロールを行っているのか。自身の研究においても、治療を継続してきた当事者の価値評価に沿うことにより、かならずしも他者のサポートがなくとも、自律的な生活の営みが可能になることを明らかにしており（伊藤，2020）、実際多くの統合失調症者は地域生活を営んでいる。よって、長期入院経験を有しながらも地域において生活を維持している統合失調症の人々が、どのような自己を維持することによって、地域での生活維持が可能になるのか、その生活の営みの方略（ストラテジー）を明らかにすることを目的に研究を進めた。まず2022年度の計画として、対象条件に即した研究参加者より語りのデータを収集した。研究参加者は現在計4名おり、1名につき約4回程度のインタビューを繰り返し行っており約8割のインタビューが終了している状況である。また、語りのデーターは、インタビュー終了後、フィールドノーツを踏まえトランスクリプトを作成し随時分析を進めている。2023年度は、ライフストーリー研究の対話的構築主義を参考に個人的な生活や経験の語りから、統合失調症の人々にとって地域での生活を維持するためのもの（社会的資源）が何であるのか、またその生活の営みにおける個別的な方略（ストラテジー）を分析から読み解き、かれらの事実とその評価を明らかにし、学会発表する予定である。また、2022年度と同様、4～5名程度の研究参加者を募集し、インタビューを実施する予定である。これらより、個別的な当事者理解の視点を明らかにし、それらを提示することにより、個々人の具体的な支援について看護の示唆を得ることができると考える。
