本年度は、カナダで開発された認知症の人の死に対する家族の準備を測定であるCaring Ahead: Preparing for End-of-Life with Dementia questionnaireをISPORタスクフォースが示す、患者報告式アウトカム尺度の翻訳手続きのガイドラインに従って、日本語版原案を作成した。原版開発者に翻訳の許可を得た後、研究者チームと翻訳専門家による順翻訳、各順翻訳の比較検討を行い初版に統合したものについて、別の翻訳専門家が逆翻訳を行った。逆翻訳を原版開発者に提示し、英語原版と比較検討してもらい、乖離がある項目について指摘を受けた。特に問題になった項目は、「死」に関する日本語表現の曖昧さや、日本語の時制の曖昧さといった言語表現に関する問題があった。また、死にまつわる儀式に関する表現に関する文化的な問題、行政手続きや守るべきルールの違いといった制度的な問題が挙げられた。研究者チームで検討し、翻訳修正案を作成、修正案の逆翻訳について再度原版開発者に提示した。原版開発者は、修正案の逆翻訳と英語原版およびフランス語版との認知的等価性を評価し、修正案は日本語版原案として承認された。来年度は、作成された日本語版原案について、翻訳手続きの次の段階である、日本語を母国語とする対象集団への認知デブリーフィングと、その結果生じる修正のレビューを実施し、日本語版の理解のしやすさや原版との認知的等価性を評価し、尺度の内容妥当性を検討する予定であるため、研究倫理審査委員会の承認を得た。
