2022年度は文献資料の解析と分析、学会での報告を実施し、2010年代以降のイスラエル政治の右傾化のなかで新たに立ち上がってきたパレスチナ人の若者運動の動向について研究を行った。まず東エルサレムの公共領域をめぐるイスラエル政府とパレスチナ人の抗争についての研究として、2019年に生じた「ラフマ門事件」を取り上げた。この事件を扱う上ではローカルな次元での紛争の展開だけでなく、アメリカのトランプ大統領による和平案の発表や水面下で進んでいたイスラエルとアラブ諸国の関係正常化のなかで、ヨルダンやサウジアラビア、トルコといった地域諸国がエルサレムの聖地管理権をめぐり様々な主張を展開していったという国際的な文脈が重要となる。現地紙の報道などを読み込み、この域内政治、国際政治の動きとローカルな紛争の動態を接合して、分析の結果を国際学会で報告した。また、イスラエル国内に事実上併合されたエルサレムの特殊な文脈を際立たせるため、ヨルダン川西岸地区、ガザ地区といった他の占領地における若者運動と比較しつつ、若者たちが緩やかなグループ形成を通じて社会秩序の維持を目指す動きについて総合的な調査・分析を行った。特に事例としてはコロナ禍における相互扶助の活動などに関する現地の報道やSNSでの言説などを解析し、その結果の一部を一般向きの講演で報告した。さらに、右傾化するイスラエル政治のなかで苦境に置かれたイスラエル市民のパレスチナ人についても研究会で報告を実施し、エルサレムに住むパレスチナ人の運動との共通性と差異性について指摘した。2022年にエルサレムで生じたイスラエル政府とパレスチナ人の衝突においても若者勢力の存在感は大きく、本研究課題の重要性をますます確信した。
