Reactivity of polypnictogen complexes towards nucleophiles and their subsequent chemistry

Nucleophilic functionalizations of polyphosphorus ligand complexes are essential synthetic tools to build novel functional phosphorus ligands and, after their removal from the transition metal, to generate e.g., asymmetrically substituted phosphines. The project aims at the nucleophilic optimization and electrophilic diversification of phosphorus ligand complexes to remove asymmetrically substituted phosphines as enantiopure compounds. Substantial fundamental research will be conducted in view of the nucleophilic functionalization and the electrophilic diversification of Asn and Sbn ligand complexes, respectively, to develop new pathways to differently functionalized arsine and stibine ligands and to remove these as well from the transition metal in order to obtain facile synthetic pathways to asymmetrically substituted or divers functionalized arsines and stibines, respectively. Further, new types of nucleophilic functionalizations of white phosphorus and yellow arsenic, respectively, by a bimetallic activation pocket are to be developed.
