项目摘要

本研究では、言語変異にはまず言語内的要因、言語外的要因の他に認知的要因が存在するということから始まっている。この3者の関連を見るためには、どうしても大量の自然談話データがひつようになり、さらにそれが文字化されている必要がある。調査者の既存自然談話データの整理(デジタル化、文字化)はアナログ90分テープにして100本ほどあるので、この自然談話データのデジタル化、文字化法の調査を行った。デジタル化については、文献調査と試行錯誤を繰り返した末、デジタルオーディオテープ(DAT)、コンパクトディスク(CD)そしてミニディスク(MD)をオリジナル録音用、長期保存用、コーディング・文字化用と、それぞれの持つ長所短所に応じて使い分けることが必要という知見が得られた。またそのための能率的手順を開発した(TALKS3に発表)。よって既存資料のデジタル化にはまずアナログテープをDATテープに移してから始めるべきである。同様に文字化についても試行錯誤の末、マイクロソフトエクセル(Microsoft Excel97)を用いた簡便にして漢字仮名交じり文と共にカナバージョンを作成する手順を編み出し、文字化作業の効率化に成功した。認知的要因については、そのヒントになる言語習得に目を向け、10代の言語変異データ(東京語「を」の変異)を分析し、その基礎部分が大人のそれと同様な具合に要因のコントロールを受けていることを示した(TALKS3に発表)。さらに、認知と言うことで関わりやすい終助詞の有無と格助詞変異の関連を分析し、これが表面的なもので、一見終助詞と関わりのあると見えるものが、実はスタイル差の反映に過ぎないことを確立した(KLS19に発表)。
